The Ambassador of Belarus took part in the opening of the Museum of Russian Music
18.05.2024On May 16, 2024, H.E. Viktar Rybak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Türkiye took part in the opening ceremony of the Museum of Russian Music at the House of Turkish-Russian Friendship of Diplomats and Artists (Ankara).
For reference: the Museum’s exhibition today contains several dozen books on musical topics, Soviet-era records of various styles and trends, and music magazines from the 1990s-2000s. Also autographs of famous contemporary musicians and groups, including rock bands “Master”, “Aria”, “Picnic” are presented as well as a stand of VIA “Pesnyary” is being prepared at the Museum.
H.E.V. Rybak noted in his speech that the Museum has created an atmosphere of a common culture with Russia: music, brilliant Russian, Belarusian and Soviet songs, compositions of the war years. The Embassy of Belarus will make efforts to help create a stand in the Museum dedicated to the work of the leader of the legendary VIA “Pesnyary” Vladimir Mulyavin. He added that he views the Museum as a symbol of the unification of Belarus, Russia and Türkiye in the cultural sphere.
The Ambassador of Belarus emphasized that Belarus has many points of contact with Türkiye. Minsk and Ankara have done everything possible to resolve the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Three rounds of face-to-face negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations took place in Belarus, the fourth – in Istanbul.
He noted with regret that the Istanbul Agreements, which could have stopped the conflict at its very beginning, were thrown into the dustbin of history due to the efforts of the collective West.
H.E.V. Rybak drew attention to the fact that Belarusians understand the value of peace better than anyone else, because during the Great Patriotic War Belarus lost a third of its population.
He called on to preserve historical memory and not allow the history of the Second World War to be rewritten.
